Our vision / aspiration

To see a united and resilient Rohingya community that preserves its identity, dignity, culture, and core values during displacement and can return to its homeland, Arakan, in safety, with equal rights and dignity.

Our mission

To strengthen the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of Rohingya communities by listening to community voices, supporting learning and participation, and connecting research, documentation, and advocacy with community priorities. We aim to build collective capacity during displacement, preserve our identity and values, and advance our shared aspiration for a safe and dignified return to Arakan with equal rights.

Our story

Our community shapes
our purpose.

ARS is a global collective rooted in the Rohingya community. Our journey begins in the refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, where our members include students, teachers, and people from different backgrounds within the community. As one of the largest Rohingya populations lives in these camps, we believe meaningful action should begin here.

But ARS extends beyond the camps. We bring together Rohingya from the diaspora, alongside non-Rohingya well-wishers, researchers, and others who share our commitment to a greater cause. Across borders and different walks of life, we come together to advance the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of Rohingya communities and contribute to a better future.
